My house is old: can it take a high-efficiency furnace?
Usually yes, but it is a design question rather than a swap. A condensing unit needs its own venting and a condensate drain, and the ducts have to move the air. Worth looking at the whole setup before you choose a model.
The back bedroom never gets warm: is that the furnace?
Sometimes. Often it is the duct run, the return path or a closed damper. Airflow is worth checking first, because a bigger unit pushing against the same ductwork rarely fixes it.
Is a 20-year-old furnace worth repairing?
